DIY: Popsicle Stick Bracelets

August 19, 2012

Hey guys! So I haven't posted in a week so I figured it was time to play catch up and start posting again. This activity is something that is a little more time consuming and complex. They are bracelets made out of popsicle sticks. I found this looking on Pinterest and thought this was such a cool craft to work on. When looking at this I thought let's do this. I love bracelets as it is so why not make tons of them? These cute little bracelets can be given as gifts also!

For this Project I Used:
  • Popsicle sticks (bought in bulk at Walmart in industrial size)
  • Container
  • Water
  • Drinking glass (for forming the bracelets)
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Any type of stick on jewels, yarn, ect for sticking on and decorating the bracelets
  • Paintbrush
 The Process:

Allow the popsicle sticks to soak in a container filled with water overnight. This will allow them to get completely saturated. Once this has taken place it will be easy to bend the sticks to fit into the drinking glass to form the bracelets.

Once the sticks are formed into the glass(es), allow them to thoroughly dry overnight and then easily remove them for the cups to see they are in a circular shape. Now for the fun part! You can use acrylic paint to make designs onto them. Keep in mind however, re-wetting the bracelets with paint will make them open a bit so it is better to use a cup with a smaller opening. Once painting is done, you can attach scrapbook paper, fabric, stick on jewels, or sequins, or whatever you can come up with in your crazy mind!!

Hope you enjoy making these cute little bracelets!!!
